As of Sept 7 the river water levels are so low Backroads Whistler has voluntarily stopped operating.
We do this for guest quality of trip, the environment and the impending Kokanee Salmon run.
Should water levels rise we expect the salmon to migrate upstream to the spawning beds and don’t want boats disturbing the eggs.
Backroads Whistler expects to remain off the river till the eggs hatch sometime in Oct.
We will update this report as conditions change
